Hayley Francis Cann, BMT, MTA, MT-BC, NMT provides music therapy services to Katarokwi/ Kingston, ON and Area. She studied at Acadia University to obtain a Bachelor of Music Therapy (BMT). In this programme she received advanced training in piano, guitar, and voice, as well as saxophone as her principle instrument. Further musical accomplishments include Grade 6 ABRSM Theory, Grade 8 ABRSM Alto Saxophone, winning and performing in the Acadia Tom Regan Concert twice (2014, 2015) with the Acadia Saxophone Quartet, and performing in various concert bands, jazz bands, and wind ensembles. In addition, she grew up in the Salvation Army church and thus the traditional brass band and SATB choral singing were the first types of music she was introduced to. In May 2018, Hayley obtained Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) status through The Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy. She has clinical experience with seniors including dementia and Alzheimer’s, individuals with developmental disabilities, and rehabilitation including stroke, multiple sclerosis, and amusia to name a few.
