Hayley Francis Cann studied at Acadia University to obtain a Bachelor of Music Therapy (BMT). In this programme she received advanced training in piano, guitar, and voice, as well as saxophone as her principle instrument. Further musical accomplishments include Grade 6 ABRSM Theory, Grade 8 ABRSM Alto Saxophone, winning and performing in the Acadia Tom Regan Concert twice (2014, 2015) with the Acadia Saxophone Quartet, and performing in various concert bands, jazz bands, and wind ensembles. Additionally, Hayley grew up in the Salvation Army church and thus the traditional brass band and SATB choral singing were the first types of music she was introduced to.
Hayley is inspired to use her passion for music to improve the well being of others in the Kingston community. She has clinical experience with seniors including dementia and Alzheimer’s, individuals with developmental disabilities, and rehabilitation including stroke, multiple sclerosis, and amusia.
