Kimberly Dolan is native to Katarokwi/ Kingston, ON and is pleased to be home providing music therapy services to her community. Kimberly holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology and Masters of Music Therapy (MMT) from Wilfrid Laurier University and is currently working towards becoming a Registered Psychotherapist.
Her main instrument is voice and she also has training with guitar and piano. She is passionate about her work within mental health and has clinical experience working within forensic settings, with individuals experiencing depression and anxiety, youth and adults at risk, individuals with developmental delays, seniors with dementia and Alzheimers, individuals who are deaf/blind, ASD, ADHD, and more.
Kimberly has completed her Level 1 Guided Imagery in Music (GIM) training and in May 2018 received the Canadian Association for Music Therapists Peer Recognition Award. In May 2020, Kim became a recognized Neurologic Music Therapist (NMT) with The Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy specializing in music therapy approaches for rehabilitation. She continues to explore this model and is working towards becoming a fellow.
Outside of her clinical practice, Kimberly is passionate about advocacy of the field of music therapy. She is energized by engaging in discussion with her community and shining a light on the benefits and application in the field.
