Living with Lewy Body Dementia

What is it like to live with dementia?  How does it feel?  How does it inhibit our day to day life?

Dr. Patricia Davis depicts her experience of living with Lewy Body Dementia through an original poem.  She has the belief that we can find a cure through medical and community partnership and perseverance!

“The Foe” By: Dr. Patricia Davis
Stealthily, the unseen foe stalks the crevices of our brains,
Leaving a trail of debris and destruction in it’s wake.
That slows our thoughts and dulls our intellect.
The name of the Foe is Lewy Body and we must match its cunning.

If we are to prevail against its army,
Our weapons are science, research, and determination.
Our allies are doctors, care partners, and friends,
Who champion our cause.
Let battle commence.
