Experts suggest that bonding is increased when we interact musically with our children. In this series, music therapy and yoga come together to practice with intention and purpose; to promote, maintain and restore physical, emotional, cognitive, social and spiritual well-being, for both caregivers and toddlers.
Accredited Music Therapist Kimberly Dolan of Find Your Voice Music Therapy will focus on the toddlers’ musical being, giving them an opportunity to naturally explore, create and discover through music. Integrated within this practice, Yoga Teacher Carly Stong of Life Yoga will offer a yoga practice with you as the caregiver in mind. You will have the option to involve your child in your yoga poses or have them play or explore close by.
The intention of this 8-week series is for your and your toddler to socialize, engage and connect with one another, as well as other caregivers and their children.
Music with your toddler creates a great deal of communication through listening, sharing and exchanging of ideas, thoughts and feelings. Along with the development of gross and fine motor skills this series stimulates cognitive functioning, aiding in speech and language production. We intend to develop greater self-confidence and self-esteem by allowing toddlers the opportunity to creatively express themselves.
