Abby Rhynold, BMT (she/her), Intern at Find Your Voice Music Therapy, was born and raised in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia (located in Mi’kma’ki, the unceded and ancestral territory of the Mi’kmaq nation). She found her love for music-making at a young age and continues to incorporate it into her personal and professional life as much as she can.
Abby completed her Bachelor of Music Therapy at Acadia University, where she studied guitar, euphonium, voice, and piano. During her time at Acadia, she completed clinical work with various populations including seniors in long-term-care, adults living with developmental delays, and adults working through addictions. Abby believes strongly in the power music holds as a tool for healing, and that every individual is inherently musical. She has a deep interest in psychology, and is passionate about making therapy accessible for all.
In her free time, Abby enjoys running, biking, baking, crocheting, and tending to her many plants. She also works part-time at a wool-spinning mill!
